By day you led the Israelites with a pillar of cloud. At night you led them with a pillar of fire. It gave them light to show them the way you wanted them to go.

By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take.

He led them straight to a city where they could make their homes.

Now it stood behind them.It came between the armies of Egypt and Israel. All through the night the cloud brought darkness to one side and light to the other. Neither army went near the other all night long.
