只是住在那地的人強壯，城又堅固又十分高大，並且我們在那裡也看見了亞衲族人的後裔。

然而住那地的民强壮，城邑也坚固宽大，并且我们在那里看见了亚衲族的人。

但是住那地的百姓很强悍，城镇又大又坚固，我们也在那里看见了亚衲族人。

“以色列啊，你要聽，你今日快要過約旦河，進去趕出比你又大又強的列國，佔領堅固、高得頂天的城市。那地的民族又高又大，就是亞衲族的人，是你知道的，你也聽過有人指著他們說：‘誰能在亞衲族人面前站立得住呢？’

我們上哪裡去呢？我們的兄弟使我們心灰意冷，說：那地的人比我們高大；他們的城邑又大又堅固，高聳入天；我們在那裡還看見有亞衲族的人。’

在那裡我們看見了巨人，就是亞衲人的子孫，是巨人的後裔；我們看自己好像是蚱蜢，他們看我們也是這樣。”

（以前有以米人住在那裡，這族人人數眾多，身體高大，像亞衲族人一樣。這以米人，像亞衲族人一樣，也算為利乏音人；但摩押人稱他們為以米人。

迦勒把亞衲人的三個子孫，就是示篩、亞希幔、撻買，從那裡趕出去；他們是亞衲人的後代。

這些城都是以高牆作堡壘，有城門，有門閂；此外，還有很多沒有城牆的鄉村。

在以色列人的境內，沒有留下一個亞衲族人，只在迦薩、迦特和亞實突還有餘下的。

這族人人數眾多，身體高大，像亞衲族人一樣；但耶和華從亞捫人面前消滅了他們，亞捫人就佔領了他們的地業，住在那裡，

他們上到南地，到了希伯崙，在那裡有亞衲族人的後裔亞希幔、示篩、撻買。原來希伯崙城比埃及的瑣安城早建七年。他們來到以實各谷，從那裡砍下了一根葡萄枝子，上頭只有一掛葡萄，兩個人用槓抬著回來；他們也帶了些石榴和無花果回來。

猶大照著摩西的吩咐，把希伯崙給了迦勒；迦勒就從那裡趕走亞衲子孫的三族。
