此則出於仁愛、知我為辯福音而用、

此則由愛心、知我為辯福音而立、

彼則不本至誠、徒以基督為號召、而自立門戶、藉欲重貽吾憂於囹圄之中。

The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.

But the others preach about Christ only to get ahead. They preach Christ for the wrong reasons. They think they can stir up trouble for me while I am being held by chains.

The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment.

Those others do not have pure motives as they preach about Christ. They preach with selfish ambition, not sincerely, intending to make my chains more painful to me.

The former proclaim Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, because they think they can cause trouble for me in my imprisonment.

but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.

我为这福音奉派作传道的，作使徒，作师傅。为这缘故，我也受这些苦难。然而我不以为耻；因为知道我所信的是谁，也深信他能保全我所交付他的，直到那日。

凡事不可结党，不可贪图虚浮的荣耀；只要存心谦卑，各人看别人比自己强。

我为你们众人有这样的意念，原是应当的；因你们常在我心里，无论我是在捆锁之中，是辩明证实福音的时候，你们都与我一同得恩。

我传福音原没有可夸的，因为我是不得已的。若不传福音，我便有祸了。我若甘心做这事，就有赏赐；若不甘心，责任却已经托付我了。

弟兄们，我不愿意你们不知道，我屡次定意往你们那里去，要在你们中间得些果子，如同在其余的外邦人中一样；只是到如今仍有阻隔。无论是希腊人、化外人、聪明人、愚拙人，我都欠他们的债，所以情愿尽我的力量，将福音也传给你们在罗马的人。我不以福音为耻；这福音本是神的大能，要救一切相信的，先是犹太人，后是希腊人。因为神的义正在这福音上显明出来；这义是本于信，以致于信。如经上所记：“义人必因信得生。”

我初次申诉，没有人前来帮助，竟都离弃我；但愿这罪不归与他们。

“诸位父兄请听，我现在对你们分诉。”

亚基帕对保罗说：“准你为自己辩明。”于是保罗伸手分诉，说：“

我现在被浇奠，我离世的时候到了。那美好的仗我已经打过了，当跑的路我已经跑尽了，所信的道我已经守住了。

我为此奉派作传道的，作使徒，作外邦人的师傅，教导他们相信，学习真道。我说的是真话，并不是谎言。

所以，你们当立定心意，不要预先思想怎样分诉；

保罗这样分诉，非斯都大声说：“保罗，你癫狂了吧。你的学问太大，反叫你癫狂了！”

反倒看见了主托我传福音给那未受割礼的人，正如托彼得传福音给那受割礼的人。（那感动彼得、叫他为受割礼之人作使徒的，也感动我，叫我为外邦人作使徒；）
