爾豈可為轉瞬即無之貨財勤勞乎、貨財速去、如空中飛鷹、似乎有翼、或作爾豈可注目於貨財乎貨財速歸無有似乎有翼如空中飛鷹

Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

因为资财不能永有，冠冕岂能存到万代？

你要嘱咐那些今世富足的人，不要自高，也不要倚靠无定的钱财；只要倚靠那厚赐百物给我们享受的神。

因为，凡世界上的事，就像肉体的情欲、眼目的情欲，并今生的骄傲，都不是从父来的，乃是从世界来的。

“不要为自己积攒财宝在地上；地上有虫子咬，能锈坏，也有贼挖窟窿来偷。

嗐！你们这些富足人哪，应当哭泣、号啕，因为将有苦难临到你们身上。你们的财物坏了，衣服也被虫子咬了。

传道者说：“虚空的虚空，凡事都是虚空。”

有报信的来见约伯，说：“牛正耕地，驴在旁边吃草，示巴人忽然闯来，把牲畜掳去，并用刀杀了仆人；惟有我一人逃脱，来报信给你。”他还说话的时候，又有人来说：“神从天上降下火来，将群羊和仆人都烧灭了；惟有我一人逃脱，来报信给你。”他还说话的时候，又有人来说：“迦勒底人分作三队忽然闯来，把骆驼掳去，并用刀杀了仆人；惟有我一人逃脱，来报信给你。”

我见日光之下有一宗大祸患，就是财主积存资财，反害自己。因遭遇祸患，这些资财就消灭；那人若生了儿子，手里也一无所有。

他们的父亲雅各对他们说：“你们使我丧失我的儿子：约瑟没有了，西缅也没有了，你们又要将便雅悯带去；这些事都归到我身上了。”

世人行动实系幻影。他们忙乱，真是枉然；积蓄财宝，不知将来有谁收取。

弟兄们，我对你们说：时候减少了。从此以后，那有妻子的，要像没有妻子；哀哭的，要像不哀哭；快乐的，要像不快乐；置买的，要像无有所得；用世物的，要像不用世物，因为这世界的样子将要过去了。

求你使我的心趋向你的法度，不趋向非义之财。求你叫我转眼不看虚假，又叫我在你的道中生活。

惟有你的眼和你的心专顾贪婪，流无辜人的血，行欺压和强暴。

传道者说：虚空的虚空，虚空的虚空，凡事都是虚空。

你们为何花钱买那不足为食物的？用劳碌得来的买那不使人饱足的呢？你们要留意听我的话就能吃那美物，得享肥甘，心中喜乐。
