挪亞六百歲那一年的二月十七日，就在那一天，大深淵的泉源都裂開，天上的窗戶也敞開了，

因此，以色列獨自安然居住，雅各的泉源在五穀新酒之地，他的天也滴下露水。

使雨降在無人之地，在無人居住的曠野，使荒廢淒涼之地得以豐足，青草得以生長？「雨有父親嗎？露珠是誰生的呢？

外邦虛無的神明中有能降雨的嗎？天能自降甘霖嗎？耶和華－我們的上帝啊，不是你嗎？我們要等候你，因為這一切都是你所造的。

「錫安的民哪，你們要歡喜，要因耶和華－你們的上帝快樂；因他賞賜你們合宜的秋雨，為你們降下甘霖，秋雨和春雨，和先前一樣。

因他吸取水點，水點就從雲霧中變成雨；雲彩將雨落下，沛然降於世人。

願上帝賜你天上的甘露，地上的肥土，和豐富的五穀新酒。

上帝說：「天下面的水要聚集在一處，使乾地露出來。」事就這樣成了。

你眷顧地，降雨使地大大肥沃。上帝的河滿了水；你這樣澆灌了地，好為人預備五穀。你澆透地的犁溝，潤澤犁脊，降甘霖，使地鬆軟；其中生長的，蒙你賜福。你以恩惠為年歲的冠冕，你的路徑都滴下油脂，滴在曠野的草場上。小山以歡樂束腰，

「當海水衝出，如出母胎，誰用門將它關閉呢？是我用雲彩當海的衣服，用幽暗當包裹它的布，為它定界限，又安門和閂，說：『你只可到這裏，不可越過；你狂傲的浪要到此止住。』

諸山上升，諸谷下沉，歸你為它所立定之地。你定了界限，使水不能超越，不再轉回淹沒大地。

以撒回答以掃說：「看哪，我已立他作你的主，使他的弟兄都給他作僕人，並賜他五穀新酒可以養生。我兒，那麼，現在我還能為你做甚麼呢？」以掃對他父親說：「我父啊，你只有一個祝福嗎？我父啊，求你也為我祝福！」以掃就放聲而哭。他父親以撒回答說：「看哪，你所住的地方必缺乏肥沃的土地，缺乏天上的甘露。
