I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.

My teaching will drop like the rain, my sayings will drip like the dew, as rain drops upon the grass, and showers upon new growth.

By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

He must hold firmly to the faithful message as it has been taught, so that he will be able to give exhortation in such healthy teaching and correct those who speak against it.

Listen, for I will speak excellent things, and my lips will utter what is right.For my mouth speaks truth, and my lips hate wickedness.All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing in them twisted or crooked.All of them are clear to the discerning and upright to those who find knowledge.

If his sons reject my law and disobey my regulations,if they break my rules and do not keep my commandments,I will punish their rebellion by beating them with a club, their sin by inflicting them with bruises.

So Jesus replied,“ My teaching is not from me, but from the one who sent me.If anyone wants to do God’s will, he will know about my teaching, whether it is from God or whether I speak from my own authority.

My words come from the uprightness of my heart, and my lips will utter knowledge sincerely.

“ But if you people ever turn away from me, fail to obey the regulations and rules I instructed you to keep, and decide to serve and worship other gods,

Listen to this, all you nations! Pay attention, all you inhabitants of the world!Pay attention, all you people, both rich and poor!I will declare a wise saying; I will share my profound thoughts.

“ And you, Solomon my son, obey the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, for the LORD examines all minds and understands every motive of one’s thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.

For you have said,‘ My teaching is flawless, and I am pure in your sight.’

Have I not written thirty sayings for you, sayings of counsel and knowledge,to show you true and reliable words, so that you may give accurate answers to those who sent you?
