“ But My people did not listen to My voice, And Israel did not obey Me.So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, To walk by their own plans.

See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.

However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says,“ Lord, who has believed our report?”So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

“ You there! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost.Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David.

At the head of the noisy streets she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city she declares her sayings:

“ This Moses whom they disowned, saying,‘ Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ is the one whom God sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush.This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your countrymen.’
