敬畏主者、主憐恤之、如父之憐恤其子、

人能敬主。必蒙青睞。父之憐子。尚有不逮。

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

A father is tender and kind to his children. In the same way, the Lord is tender and kind to those who have respect for him.

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

Like as a father pitieth his children, So Jehovah pitieth them that fear him.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

Like as a father pitieth[ his] children,[ so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on his faithful followers.

Like a father has compassion on his children, so Yahweh has compassion on those who fear him.

And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: My son, do not take the Lord’s discipline lightly or lose heart when you are reproved by him,for the Lord disciplines the one he loves and punishes every son he receives.Endure suffering as discipline: God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?But if you are without discipline— which all receive— then you are illegitimate children and not sons.Furthermore, we had human fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?For they disciplined us for a short time based on what seemed good to them, but he does it for our benefit, so that we can share his holiness.No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Isn’t Ephraim a precious son to me, a delightful child? Whenever I speak against him, I certainly still think about him. Therefore, my inner being yearns for him; I will truly have compassion on him. This is the LORD’s declaration.

But from eternity to eternity the LORD’s faithful love is toward those who fear him, and his righteousness toward the grandchildren

for the LORD disciplines the one he loves, just as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights.

What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

At that time those who feared the LORD spoke to one another. The LORD took notice and listened. So a book of remembrance was written before him for those who feared the LORD and had high regard for his name.“ They will be mine,” says the LORD of Armies,“ my own possession on the day I am preparing. I will have compassion on them as a man has compassion on his son who serves him.

The son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I’m no longer worthy to be called your son.’“ But the father told his servants,‘ Quick! Bring out the best robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.

They will come weeping, but I will bring them back with consolation. I will lead them to wadis filled with water, by a smooth way where they will not stumble, for I am Israel’s Father, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

Look down from heaven and see from your lofty home— holy and beautiful. Where is your zeal and your might? Your yearning and your compassion are withheld from me.Yet you are our Father, even though Abraham does not know us and Israel doesn’t recognize us. You, LORD, are our Father; your name is Our Redeemer from Ancient Times.

The LORD values those who fear him, those who put their hope in his faithful love.

Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth so you should tell me,‘ Carry them at your breast, as a nursing mother carries a baby,’ to the land that you swore to give their ancestors?

“ Brothers and sisters, children of Abraham’s race, and those among you who fear God, it is to us that the word of this salvation has been sent.

All these were fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides a large number of rural villages.

“ Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, your name be honored as holy.

But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him.

“ Don’t cling to me,” Jesus told her,“ since I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.”
