They attacked me like swarms of bees. But they were burned up as quickly as thorns in a fire. By the Lord’ s power I destroyed them.

Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.”After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying:“ Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him:“ Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand.Were not the Cushites and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen? Yet when you relied on the Lord, he delivered them into your hand.For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

But evil men are all to be cast aside like thorns, which are not gathered with the hand.

As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm.
