If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?

For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, attested by the Law and the Prophets.The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, since there is no distinction.For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Even if I were in the right, my own mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, my mouth would declare me guilty.

Yes, I know what you’ve said is true, but how can a person be justified before God?If one wanted to take him to court, he could not answer God once in a thousand times.

What is a mere human, that he should be pure, or one born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
