使我男子、既壯且健、如園囿之林木、枝葉葱蘢兮、使我女子、洵美且都、如宮殿之柱石、雕鏤工巧兮。

求主使我男子幼年剛強、如栽培之樹木、使我女子容貌美麗、如殿角雕刻之石柱、

願使我子孫。萌蘖成大樹。女子閑坤範。堪充宮中柱。

Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.

While our sons are young, they will be like healthy plants. Our daughters will be like pillars that have been made to decorate a palace.

May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace;

May our sons flourish in their youth like well nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace.

Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters, like corner pillars that are carved in the palace style.

When our sons in their youth are like growing plants, And our daughters like corner pillars fashioned for a palace,

That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; That our daughters may be as pillars, Sculptured in palace style;

When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth, And our daughters as corner- stones hewn after the fashion of a palace;

Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters, like corner pillars that are carved in the palace style.

For her value is far more than rubies.The heart of her husband has confidence in her, and he has no lack of gain.She brings him good and not evil all the days of her life.She obtains wool and flax, and she is pleased to work with her hands.She is like the merchant ships; she brings her food from afar.She also gets up while it is still night, and provides food for her household and a portion to her female servants.She considers a field and buys it; from her own income she plants a vineyard.She begins her work vigorously, and she strengthens her arms.She knows that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out in the night.Her hands take hold of the distaff, and her hands grasp the spindle.She extends her hand to the poor, and reaches out her hand to the needy.She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all of her household are clothed with scarlet.She makes for herself coverlets; her clothing is fine linen and purple.Her husband is well-known in the city gate when he sits with the elders of the land.She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.She is clothed with strength and honor, and she can laugh at the time to come.She opens her mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue.She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.

We have a little sister, and as yet she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister on the day when she is spoken for?If she is a wall, we will build on her a battlement of silver; but if she is a door, we will barricade her with boards of cedar.

They skip along and the jewelry on their ankles jingles.So the sovereign master will afflict the foreheads of Zion’s women with skin diseases, the LORD will make the front of their heads bald.”At that time the sovereign master will remove their beautiful ankle jewelry, neck ornaments, crescent shaped ornaments,earrings, bracelets, veils,headdresses, ankle ornaments, sashes, sachets, amulets,rings, nose rings,festive dresses, robes, shawls, purses,garments, vests, head coverings, and gowns.A putrid stench will replace the smell of spices, a rope will replace a belt, baldness will replace braided locks of hair, a sackcloth garment will replace a fine robe, and a prisoner’s brand will replace beauty.
