用鐵鏈捆綁他們的君王，用鐵銬鎖住他們的首領，

用鎖鍊捆住他們的君王，用鐵鐐鎖住他們的權貴，

好用鎖鍊捆他們的君王，用鐵鐐鎖他們的貴臣，

為要用鎖鏈捆住他們的君王，用鐵鐐捆住他們的權貴；

縛其王以鏈、繫顯者以鐵索兮、

列國之王、繫以鐵索、貴顯之臣、囚以桎梏兮、

以縲絏拘其君王、以鐵索繫其貴臣、

世王被鏈索。冢臣加桎梏。

to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,

Let them put the kings of those nations in chains. Let them put their nobles in iron chains.

Then Adoni-Bezek fled, and they pursued him and caught him and cut off his thumbs and big toes.And Adoni-Bezek said,“ Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather scraps under my table; as I have done, so God has repaid me.” Then they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel conquered on this side of the Jordan, on the west, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon as far as Mount Halak and the ascent to Seir, which Joshua gave to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions,

And if they are bound in fetters, Held in the cords of affliction,

And they did so, and brought out those five kings to him from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.So it was, when they brought out those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him,“ Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.” And they drew near and put their feet on their necks.
