Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.

教訓我們勝於地上的走獸，使我們有聰明勝於空中的飛鳥。

耶和華說：我的百姓愚頑，不認識我；他們是愚昧無知的兒女，有智慧行惡，沒有知識行善。

我們若把嚼環放在馬嘴裏，叫牠順服，就能調動牠的全身。

我留心聽，聽見他們說不正直的話。無人悔改惡行，說：我做的是甚麼呢？他們各人轉奔己路，如馬直闖戰場。空中的鸛鳥知道來去的定期；斑鳩燕子與白鶴也守候當來的時令；我的百姓卻不知道耶和華的法則。

我聽見以法蓮為自己悲歎說：你責罰我，我便受責罰，像不慣負軛的牛犢一樣。求你使我回轉，我便回轉，因為你是耶和華－我的神。
