“ Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom; in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth without knowing whose it will finally be.

People are only shadows as they go here and there. They rush around, but it doesn’t mean anything. They pile up wealth, but they don’t know who will finally get it.

We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it.

Yes, a person goes about like a mere shadow. Indeed, they rush around in vain, gathering possessions without knowing who will get them.

Certainly every person walks around as a fleeting shadow; They certainly make an uproar for nothing; He amasses riches and does not know who will gather them.

For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.

But God said to him,‘ Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand.

casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

The more words, the more vanity, and what is the advantage to man?For who knows what is good for man while he lives the few days of his vain life, which he passes like a shadow? For who can tell man what will be after him under the sun?

Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher; all is vanity.

And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.

Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.

Though he heap up silver like dust, and pile up clothing like clay,he may pile it up, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver.

It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

When your eyes light on it, it is gone, for suddenly it sprouts wings, flying like an eagle toward heaven.

For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.Their graves are their homes forever, their dwelling places to all generations, though they called lands by their own names.

Again, I saw vanity under the sun:one person who has no other, either son or brother, yet there is no end to all his toil, and his eyes are never satisfied with riches, so that he never asks,“ For whom am I toiling and depriving myself of pleasure?” This also is vanity and an unhappy business.

for riches do not last forever; and does a crown endure to all generations?

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous.

So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me, for all is vanity and a striving after wind.I hated all my toil in which I toil under the sun, seeing that I must leave it to the man who will come after me,and who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.
