I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.

For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water; Because the comforter that should refresh my soul is far from me: My children are desolate, because the enemy hath prevailed.

My friends scoff at me: But mine eye poureth out tears unto God,

And thou shalt say this word unto them, Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.

My soul is weary of my life; I will give free course to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

So am I made to possess months of misery, And wearisome nights are appointed to me.

Mine eyes do fail with tears, my heart is troubled; My liver is poured upon the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the young children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

Even to- day is my complaint rebellious: My stroke is heavier than my groaning.

Their heart cried unto the Lord: O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night; Give thyself no respite; let not the apple of thine eye cease.Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; Pour out thy heart like water before the face of the Lord: Lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger at the head of every street.
