saying,“ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and,“ What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

which said:“ Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

The voice said,“ Write on a scroll what you see. Send it to the seven churches in Asia Minor. They are Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”

saying,“ Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”

It said,“ Write in a book everything you see, and send it to the seven churches in the cities of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

saying,“ Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”

“ And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,‘ These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars:“ I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne,

Greet the brethren who are in Laodicea, and Nymphas and the church that is in his house.Now when this epistle is read among you, see that it is read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:

“ And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write,‘ These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life:

“ Thus speaks the Lord God of Israel, saying:‘ Write in a book for yourself all the words that I have spoken to you.

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus:

“ And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write,‘ These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass:

“ And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,‘ These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

Then the Lord answered me and said:“ Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

“ And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write,‘ These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword:

“ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,‘ These things says He who is holy, He who is true,“ He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”:

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me,“ Write:‘ Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”“ Yes,” says the Spirit,“ that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me,“ Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.”

“ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord,“ who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Then He who sat on the throne said,“ Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me,“ Write, for these words are true and faithful.”

Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this.The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.“ To the angel of the church of Ephesus write,‘ These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:

Then he said to me,“ Write:‘ Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me,“ These are the true sayings of God.”

As I urged you when I went into Macedonia— remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost.

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me,“ Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called for the elders of the church.

“ Now therefore, write down this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for Me against the children of Israel.

And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some discipleshe said to them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him,“ We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”And he said to them,“ Into what then were you baptized?” So they said,“ Into John’s baptism.”Then Paul said,“ John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.Now the men were about twelve in all.And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God.But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying,“ We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.”Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.And the evil spirit answered and said,“ Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds.Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver.So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying,“ After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”So he sent into Macedonia two of those who ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, but he himself stayed in Asia for a time.And about that time there arose a great commotion about the Way.For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Diana, brought no small profit to the craftsmen.He called them together with the workers of similar occupation, and said:“ Men, you know that we have our prosperity by this trade.Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are not gods which are made with hands.So not only is this trade of ours in danger of falling into disrepute, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana may be despised and her magnificence destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worship.”Now when they heard this, they were full of wrath and cried out, saying,“ Great is Diana of the Ephesians!”So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul’s travel companions.And when Paul wanted to go in to the people, the disciples would not allow him.Then some of the officials of Asia, who were his friends, sent to him pleading that he would not venture into the theater.Some therefore cried one thing and some another, for the assembly was confused, and most of them did not know why they had come together.And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people.But when they found out that he was a Jew, all with one voice cried out for about two hours,“ Great is Diana of the Ephesians!”And when the city clerk had quieted the crowd, he said:“ Men of Ephesus, what man is there who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is temple guardian of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Zeus?Therefore, since these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rashly.For you have brought these men here who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of your goddess.Therefore, if Demetrius and his fellow craftsmen have a case against anyone, the courts are open and there are proconsuls. Let them bring charges against one another.But if you have any other inquiry to make, it shall be determined in the lawful assembly.For we are in danger of being called in question for today’s uproar, there being no reason which we may give to account for this disorderly gathering.”And when he had said these things, he dismissed the assembly.

And he came to Ephesus, and left them there; but he himself entered the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.When they asked him to stay a longer time with them, he did not consent,but took leave of them, saying,“ I must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem; but I will return again to you, God willing.” And he sailed from Ephesus.

If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise,“ Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus.
