I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

I, John, am a believer like you. I am a friend who suffers like you. As members of Jesus’ royal family, we can put up with anything that happens to us. I was on the island of Patmos because I taught God’s word and what Jesus said.

confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.

These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

who bare witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, even of all things that he saw.

Because thou didst keep the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of trial, that hour which is to come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Howbeit ye did well that ye had fellowship with my affliction.

But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

If any man is for captivity, into captivity he goeth: if any man shall kill with the sword, with the sword must he be killed. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life even unto death.

Here is the patience of the saints, they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God;

even as it is right for me to be thus minded on behalf of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as, both in my bonds and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers with me of grace.

and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint- heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.

And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which ye endure;which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men.We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling- place;and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now.

Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits that are before his throne;

to them that by patience in well- doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation,

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

And not only so, but we also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh stedfastness;and stedfastness, approvedness; and approvedness, hope:

And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, that keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus:

Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of this life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully.The husbandman that laboreth must be the first to partake of the fruits.Consider what I say; for the Lord shall give thee understanding in all things.Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel:wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.Faithful is the saying: For if we died with him, we shall also live with him:if we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we shall deny him, he also will deny us:

And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow- servant with thee and with thy brethren that hold the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
