I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

I, John, am a believer like you. I am a friend who suffers like you. As members of Jesus’ royal family, we can put up with anything that happens to us. I was on the island of Patmos because I taught God’s word and what Jesus said.

I, John, your brother and partner in the tribulation and the kingdom and the patient endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

I, John, am your brother and your partner in suffering and in God’s Kingdom and in the patient endurance to which Jesus calls us. I was exiled to the island of Patmos for preaching the word of God and for my testimony about Jesus.

They strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying,“ We must enter the kingdom of God through many persecutions.”

I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage– I have conquered the world.”

who then testified to everything that he saw concerning the word of God and the testimony about Jesus Christ.

Because you have kept my admonition to endure steadfastly, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come on the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

Nevertheless, you did well to share with me in my trouble.

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with endurance.

If anyone is meant for captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, then by the sword he must be killed. This requires steadfast endurance and faith from the saints.

But they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.

This requires the steadfast endurance of the saints– those who obey God’s commandments and hold to their faith in Jesus.

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me, a prisoner for his sake, but by God’s power accept your share of suffering for the gospel.

For it is right for me to think this about all of you, because I have you in my heart, since both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel all of you became partners in God’s grace together with me.

And if children, then heirs( namely, heirs of God and also fellow heirs with Christ)– if indeed we suffer with him so we may also be glorified with him.

Now when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been violently killed because of the word of God and because of the testimony they had given.

So I said to him,“ My lord, you know the answer.” Then he said to me,“ These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!

When they have completed their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss will make war on them and conquer them and kill them.

For you need endurance in order to do God’s will and so receive what is promised.

‘ I know the distress you are suffering and your poverty( but you are rich). I also know the slander against you by those who call themselves Jews and really are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.Do not be afraid of the things you are about to suffer. The devil is about to have some of you thrown into prison so you may be tested, and you will experience suffering for ten days. Remain faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown that is life itself.

As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.This is evidence of God’s righteous judgment, to make you worthy of the kingdom of God, for which in fact you are suffering.

For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to die, because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to people.We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, we are dishonored!To the present hour we are hungry and thirsty, poorly clothed, brutally treated, and without a roof over our heads.We do hard work, toiling with our own hands. When we are verbally abused, we respond with a blessing, when persecuted, we endure,when people lie about us, we answer in a friendly manner. We are the world’s dirt and scum, even now.

So be patient, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s return. Think of how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the ground and is patient for it until it receives the early and late rains.You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.

From John, to the seven churches that are in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from“ he who is,” and who was, and who is still to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,

eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,but wrath and anger to those who live in selfish ambition and do not obey the truth but follow unrighteousness.

Now may the Lord direct your hearts toward the love of God and the endurance of Christ.

Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,and endurance, character, and character, hope.

So the dragon became enraged at the woman and went away to make war on the rest of her children, those who keep God’s commandments and hold to the testimony about Jesus.

Take your share of suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.No one in military service gets entangled in matters of everyday life; otherwise he will not please the one who recruited him.Also, if anyone competes as an athlete, he will not be crowned as the winner unless he competes according to the rules.The farmer who works hard ought to have the first share of the crops.Think about what I am saying and the Lord will give you understanding of all this.Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, a descendant of David; such is my gospel,for which I suffer hardship to the point of imprisonment as a criminal, but God’s message is not imprisoned!So I endure all things for the sake of those chosen by God, that they too may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus and its eternal glory.This saying is trustworthy: If we died with him, we will also live with him.If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he will also deny us.

So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said,“ Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
