公會同人聞言皆怒、意欲殺之；

世人以其有權暢行異蹟於海獸之前、多受其熒惑。彼乃慫慂世人、為受傷獲瘳之獸製像、

不逆詐、不樂人之非、惟樂人之是；

行人恣劫奪。鄰邦咸相輕。

主其垂青兮。應我之求。賜光明於吾目兮。庶免昏睡而長休。

凡厥名自創世以來未錄於被宰羔羊之生命冊者、咸將翕然、景仰此獸。

予切實語爾爾將哀悼痛苦、而世將歡忻鼓舞。爾等不免憂心戚戚、然爾等之憂戚、終必化為神樂。

眾聞是語對司諦文痛心疾首、忿恚滋甚。司諦文充滿聖神凝視上天、見天主榮耀、又見耶穌立於天主之右，即曰：『盍觀乎！予見諸天洞開矣！人子立於天主之右！』眾厲聲狂呼、自掩其耳、蠭擁而前、

惟猶太人嫉之、招聚市井敗類、鼓譟全城、入雅孫宅、欲執葆樂、西拉以付之於民、不得；乃曳雅孫及同道數人謁有司曰：『擾亂天下者來至此地、

莫令昧良者。欣然看我蹶。

第五天神傾注其爵於獸座之上；舉國晦冥、人痛甚而齩舌、

龍既見已被逐於地、乃追逐向舉一男之婦。
