I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.

‘ I know what you are doing. You work long and hard. I know you can’t put up with evil people. You have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not. You have found out that they are liars.

“‘ I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

“ I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars.

I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and you have found them to be liars.

親愛的，不要每個靈都信，總要試驗那些靈是否出於神，因為有許多假先知已經來到世上了。

從前在人民中，曾有假先知出來；照樣，將來在你們中間，也必有假教師出現。他們偷偷把使人滅亡的異端引進來，甚至否認那曾經買贖他們的主，迅速地自取滅亡。許多人會隨從他們的淫行，因此真理的道，就因他們的緣故被人毀謗。他們因為有貪心，就用捏造的話，想在你們身上圖利；懲罰他們的，自古以來就沒有鬆懈；毀滅他們的，也不會打盹。

凡事都要察驗，好的要持守，

我知道你的行為，看哪！我已經在你面前給你一道開著的門，是沒有人能關的；因為你有一點點力量，也遵守我的道，沒有否認我的名。

我知道你的行為，你不冷也不熱；我巴不得你或冷或熱。

這樣的人是假使徒，是詭詐的工人，裝成基督的使徒。這並不希奇，因為撒但自己也裝作光明的天使，所以，撒但的僕役裝成公義的僕役，也不必大驚小怪。他們的結局必按他們所作的而定。

使我們不再作小孩子，中了人的詭計和騙人的手段，給異教之風搖撼，飄來飄去，

我寫信給你們，不是因為你們不明白真理，而是因為你們明白，又因為謊言絕不會出於真理的。那麼，誰是說謊的呢？不就是那否認耶穌是基督的嗎？否認父和子的，他就是敵基督的。

因為耶和華看顧義人的道路，惡人的道路卻必滅亡。

然而，神堅固的根基已經立定，上面刻著這樣的印：“主認識屬於他的人”和“凡稱呼主名的人都應當離開不義”。

“你要寫信給在撒狄教會的使者，說：‘那有神七靈和七星的這樣說：我知道你的行為，你有名聲，說你是活著的，其實你是死的。

其實那並不是另一個福音，只是有些攪擾你們的人，想把基督的福音改變。

因為神並不是不公義，以致忘記了你們的工作，和你們為他的名所表現的愛心，就是你們以前服事聖徒，現在還是服事他們。

我知道你的患難和貧窮，但你卻是富足的。我也知道那些自稱是猶太人所說毀謗的話，其實他們不是猶太人，而是撒但的黨徒。

我知道你居住的地方，就是撒但王座所在的地方。當我忠心的見證人安提帕在你們那裡，就是在撒但居住的地方被殺的那些日子，你還持守我的名，沒有否認對我的信仰。然而有幾件事我要責備你，因為在你那裡有些人持守巴蘭的教訓。這巴蘭曾經教導巴勒把絆腳石放在以色列人面前，叫他們吃祭過偶像的食物，並且行淫亂。同樣，你也有些人持守尼哥拉黨的教訓。

我知道你的行為，你的愛心、信心、服侍和忍耐，也知道你後來所作的比先前的還要多。然而有一件事我要責備你，就是你容讓那自稱是先知的婦人耶洗別，教導和引誘我的眾僕人行淫亂，吃祭過偶像的食物。我曾給她時間，讓她悔改，她卻不肯為她的淫行悔改。

但我必向他們聲明：‘我從來不認識你們；你們這些作惡的人，離開我去吧！’

在我們的父神面前，不住地記念你們信心的工作，愛心的勞苦和因盼望我們主耶穌基督而有的堅忍。

不過你有這一個優點，就是你恨惡尼哥拉黨的作為，那也是我所恨惡的。
