“ Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

“ But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into.You too, be ready; because the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not think He will.”

(“ Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and people will not see his shame.”)

Beloved, this is now the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of a reminder,

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief;for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;so then, let’s not sleep as others do, but let’s be alert and sober.

Be on the alert then, because you do not know the day nor the hour.

Timothy, protect what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly, empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called“ knowledge”—

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.

Nevertheless what you have, hold firmly until I come.

“ Watch out, stay alert; for you do not know when the appointed time is.

Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your wrongdoings and your abominations.

Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

so that he does not come suddenly and find you asleep.

I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her sexual immorality.Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds.

Hold on to the example of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you receive your sisters, both your older and your younger; and I will give them to you as daughters, but not because of your covenant.So I will establish My covenant with you, and you shall know that I am the Lord,so that you may remember and be ashamed, and not open your mouth again because of your disgrace, when I have forgiven you for all that you have done,” the Lord God declares.

I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder,

I am coming quickly; hold firmly to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

And there you will remember your ways and all your deeds by which you have defiled yourselves; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for all the evil things that you have done.
