我知道你的患難和貧窮；其實你是富有的。我也知道從那些自稱是猶太人而來的毀謗，其實他們不是猶太人，而是屬於撒旦會堂的。

君王們必作你兒女的撫養人，王后們必作你兒女的乳母；他們必臉伏於地，向你下拜，舔你腳上的塵土。那時，你就知道：我是耶和華，等候我的必不致蒙羞。」

那些曾苦待你的，他們的子孫都必來向你屈身；所有曾藐視你的，都要在你的腳前下拜；他們要稱你為「耶和華的城」、「以色列聖者的錫安」。

因為你在我眼中看為寶貴、視為尊貴，更因為我愛你，所以我犧牲別人替代你，犧牲萬族替代你的性命。

在各個省、各個城市，在王令和他的法令所傳到的地方，猶太人都有了歡喜、快樂，有了宴席和慶祝的日子。那地的民眾中有許多人，因為懼怕猶太人，就自稱是猶太人。

耶和華如此說：「埃及的辛苦所得、庫實的盈利所得、身材高大的西巴人，都必來到你這裡、歸屬你；他們必戴著鎖鏈來跟隨你，向你下拜，向你承認說：『神真是在你們中間，別無其二，沒有別的神！』」

你家中所有存留的人都將為一塊銀子、一塊餅，來向他下拜，說：『求你給我安排一個祭司的職份，好讓我有塊餅吃。』」

萬軍之耶和華如此說：『必有眾民，就是許多城市的居民再次前來，一個城市的居民將到另一個城市去說：「我們快去懇求耶和華的恩寵，尋求萬軍之耶和華吧！我也去！」必有許多的民和強盛的國家前來，在耶路撒冷尋求萬軍之耶和華，懇求耶和華的恩寵。』萬軍之耶和華如此說：『在那些日子，列國的語言群體中，必有十個人抓住一個猶太人的衣襟，說：讓我們與你們同去，因為我們聽說神與你們同在。』」

可是保羅對他們說：「我們是羅馬公民，並沒有被定罪，他們卻當眾打我們，把我們投進監獄。現在他們還要悄悄地把我們趕出去嗎？當然不行！讓他們親自來領我們出去！」那些刑杖官把這些話報告給官長們，官長們一聽他們是羅馬公民，就懼怕了，於是來安撫他們，並且把他們領出來，請求他們離開那城。
