Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.

羔羊詣位於寶座者之前、

手執已展之小卷、右足踏海、左足踐陸；

又聞天上、人間、地下、海中一切眾生、同聲而呼曰：「願寶座之主及羔羊受享一切靈祉、一切尊榮、一切權能、永世靡暨！」

羔羊啟一緘、吾聞一靈物發音如雷曰：「來！」

坐者貌似碧玉、瑪瑙、有虹若葱珩、環繞其座；

我先前所聞發自天上之音、至此復語我曰：「可詣足跨海陸之天神、領取其手中已展之卷。」我乃往而就之、曰：「請授我以小卷。」渠曰：「可取而食之、將使爾腹苦；惟在爾口中、則甘如芳蜜。」我即自天神手中取得小卷、吞而食之：「方其入口、如蜜之甘；及其入腹、如荼之苦。」有告予者曰：「爾當向兆民、萬邦、重譯、百王、預言未來之事。」
