你怎能誇口呢？要知道：不是你托住樹根，而是樹根托住你。

do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.

So don’t think you are better than the other branches. Remember, you don’t give life to the root. The root gives life to you.

But you must not brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off. You are just a branch, not the root.

不錯，他們因為不信被折了下來，而你因為信被接了上去，然而不要自高，要敬畏上帝。

我還有別的羊不在這羊圈裡，我必須領他們回來，他們也必聽我的聲音。這樣，我所有的羊將要合成一群，由一個牧人來帶領。

驕橫是淪亡的前奏，狂傲是敗落的預兆。

既然如此，我們哪裡能誇口呢？當然沒有可誇的。靠什麼方法讓人不能誇口呢？靠遵守律法嗎？不是！是靠信主的方法。

從此，你們不再是外人或過客，你們與眾聖徒一樣是天國的子民，是上帝家裡的人了。你們已被建立在眾使徒和先知們的基礎上，基督耶穌自己是房角石。

彼得說：「即使所有的人都離棄你，我也永遠不會離棄你！」

所以，自以為站得穩的人要小心，免得跌倒。

所以，上帝的應許是藉著人的信心賜下的，好叫這一切都是出於上帝的恩典，確保應許歸給所有亞伯拉罕的子孫，不單是守律法的人，也包括一切效法亞伯拉罕信心的人。

以色列王說：「你去告訴便·哈達，叫他別剛穿上盔甲就誇口，打完仗卸下盔甲再誇口吧。」

各族的人和各城的居民都必來這裡。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。這一城的居民必到那一城，說，我們快去向耶和華求恩，去尋求萬軍之耶和華吧！我自己也去。各民族和各強國必來耶路撒冷尋求萬軍之耶和華，向耶和華求恩。那時，十個來自列國、講不同語言的人必拉住一個猶大人的衣角，說，讓我們跟你們同去吧，因為我們聽說上帝與你們同在。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。』」

耶穌對那些自以為義、藐視別人的人講了一個比喻：「有兩個人到聖殿裡禱告，一個是法利賽人，一個是稅吏。法利賽人站在那裡自言自語地禱告說，『上帝啊！我感謝你，因為我不像別人那樣勒索、不義、通姦，也不像這稅吏。

你們若屬於基督，就是亞伯拉罕的後裔，都是照著上帝的應許承受產業的人。

你們不知道你們敬拜的是誰，我們知道我們敬拜的是誰，因為救恩是從猶太人出來的。
