As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sake.

以福音而論、若輩固因爾之故、而為天主之悖逆矣；若就簡選論之、則若輩托祖宗餘蔭依然為天主之所親也。

As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,

As far as the good news is concerned, the people of Israel are enemies. This is for your good. But as far as God’s choice is concerned, the people of Israel are loved. This is because of God’s promises to the founders of our nation.

As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers.

Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Regarding the gospel, they are enemies for your advantage, but regarding election, they are loved because of the patriarchs,

In relation to the gospel they are enemies on your account, but in relation to God’s choice they are beloved on account of the fathers;

Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.

Only Jehovah had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all peoples, as at this day.

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people,And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of his servant David( As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets that have been from of old),Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;To show mercy towards our fathers, And to remember his holy covenant;The oath which he sware unto Abraham our father,To grant unto us that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies Should serve him without fear,In holiness and righteousness before him all our days.

who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove out us, and please not God, and are contrary to all men;forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always: but the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

whose are the fathers, and of whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

For as ye in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,

I say then, Did they stumble that they might fall? God forbid: but by their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

But thou, Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend,thou whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called from the corners thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee and not cast thee away;

But thou shalt remember Jehovah thy God, for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth; that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as at this day.

Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary unto me,I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity;then will I remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

for Jehovah thy God is a merciful God; he will not fail thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

He hath given help to Israel his servant, That he might remember mercy

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,The covenant which he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac,And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting covenant,Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, The lot of your inheritance;

and thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

What then? That which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened:

and I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these lands; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life;

Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thy heart, dost thou go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may establish the word which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed.And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Jehovah appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the lovingkindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

Jehovah did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all peoples:but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

But the Jews that were disobedient stirred up the souls of the Gentiles, and made them evil affected against the brethren.

And when they opposed themselves and blasphemed, he shook out his raiment and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
