那麼便怎麼樣呢？以色列所切求的、他們竟然沒有得着；惟獨蒙揀選的人得着了。其餘的人就成了頑梗不化的；

所以怎麼樣呢？以色列人並沒有獲得他們所尋求的，蒙揀選的人卻獲得了，而其餘的人都成了剛硬的，

然則何耶、以色列所求未得、惟蒙選者得之、餘則頑耳、

曰、然則以色列人所求者、有不得乎、曰、選民得之、其餘則頑也、

是則何也、以色列人所求者未得、惟蒙選者得之、其餘則剛愎其心矣、

然則如何？曰：義塞之所求、未之得也、其中蒙恩者得之、而其餘則已成麻木不仁之徒矣。

What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened,

What should we say then? The people of Israel did not receive what they wanted so badly. Those Israelites who were chosen did receive it. But the rest of the people were made stubborn.

What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,

So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have— the ones God has chosen— but the hearts of the rest were hardened.

What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,

What then? What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;

What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

What then? That which Israel seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened:

What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,

What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was diligently seeking, but the elect obtained it. The rest were hardened,

So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires.

in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.

For I don’t desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you won’t be wise in your own conceits, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in,

but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, didn’t arrive at the law of righteousness.Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;

and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie;that they all might be judged who didn’t believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth,to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away.

What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?

What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.

even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love,

In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says,‘ By hearing you will hear, and will in no way understand; Seeing you will see, and will in no way perceive:for this people’s heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again; and I would heal them.’

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Make the heart of this people fat. Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.”

and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,

“ He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”

What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be!

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.

They don’t know, neither do they consider: for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see; and their hearts, that they can’t understand.

“ Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me;

For you know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for a change of mind though he sought it diligently with tears.

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
