as it is written:“ God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that could not see and ears that could not hear, to this very day.”

It is written,“ God made it hard for them to understand. He gave them eyes that could not see. He gave them ears that could not hear. And they are still like that today.”( Deuteronomy 29:4; Isaiah 29:10)

As the Scriptures say,“ God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear.”

但是直到今日，耶和華還沒有給你們一顆能明白的心，能看見的眼睛，能聽見的耳朵。

因為耶和華把沉睡的靈，傾倒在你們身上；他緊閉你們的眼，就是先知；蒙蓋你們的頭，就是先見。

但是他們的心思遲鈍，因為直到今日，他們誦讀舊約的時候，這帕子仍然存在，沒有揭開，唯有在基督裡才能把這帕子廢掉。可是直到今日，他們每逢誦讀摩西的書的時候，這帕子還蓋在他們的心上。

因此，我用比喻對他們講話，因為他們看卻看不見，聽也聽不到，也不明白。以賽亞的預言，正應驗在他們身上，他說：‘你們聽是聽見了，總是不明白；看是看見了，總是不領悟。

“人子啊！你是住在叛逆的民族之中；他們有眼睛可以看，卻看不見；他們有耳朵可以聽，卻聽不見，因為他們是叛逆的民族。

“愚昧無知的民哪！你們有眼不能看，有耳不能聽；你們應當聽這話：

這樣，這些民族一方面敬畏耶和華；另一方面又繼續服事他們的偶像。他們的子子孫孫繼續照著他們的祖先所行的去行，直到今日。

他說：‘你去告訴這人民：你們聽是聽見了，總是不明白；看是看見了，總是不領悟。

耶穌對他們說：“神的國的奧祕，只給你們知道，但對於外人，一切都用比喻，叫他們‘看是看見了，卻不領悟，聽是聽見了，卻不明白，免得他們回轉過來，得到赦免。’”

他說：“神的國的奧祕，只給你們知道，對別人就用比喻，叫他們看卻看不見，聽卻聽不明白。

他說：“你去告訴這子民，說：‘你們聽了又聽，卻不明白；看了又看，卻不曉得。’

直到今日，他們仍是按照他們初時的習俗去行；他們不敬畏耶和華，行事不按他們的規例和典章，也不按耶和華曾吩咐雅各的子孫的律法和誡命。耶和華曾給雅各起名為以色列。
