It is written,“ God made it hard for them to understand. He gave them eyes that could not see. He gave them ears that could not hear. And they are still like that today.”( Deuteronomy 29:4; Isaiah 29:10)

But to this very day the LORD has not given you an understanding mind, perceptive eyes, or discerning ears!

For the LORD has poured out on you a strong urge to sleep deeply. He has shut your eyes( the prophets), and covered your heads( the seers).

But their minds were closed. For to this very day, the same veil remains when they hear the old covenant read. It has not been removed because only in Christ is it taken away.But until this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds,

For this reason I speak to them in parables: Although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand.And concerning them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:‘ You will listen carefully yet will never understand, you will look closely yet will never comprehend.

“ Son of man, you are living in the midst of a rebellious house. They have eyes to see, but do not see, and ears to hear, but do not hear, because they are a rebellious house.

Tell them:‘ Hear this, you foolish people who have no understanding, who have eyes but do not discern, who have ears but do not perceive:

These nations are worshiping the LORD and at the same time serving their idols; their sons and grandsons do just as their fathers have done, to this very day.

when he said,‘ Go to this people and say,“ You will keep on hearing, but will never understand, and you will keep on looking, but will never perceive.

He said to them,“ The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those outside, everything is in parables,so that although they look they may look but not see, and although they hear they may hear but not understand, so they may not repent and be forgiven.”

He said,“ You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that although they see they may not see, and although they hear they may not understand.

He said,“ Go and tell these people:‘ Listen continually, but don’t understand! Look continually, but don’t perceive!’

To this very day they observe their earlier practices. They do not worship the LORD; they do not obey the rules, regulations, law, and commandments that the LORD gave the descendants of Jacob, whom he renamed Israel.
