that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.

And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.For what glory is it, if, when ye sin, and are buffeted for it, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye shall take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

Rejoice always;pray without ceasing;

knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience.And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;

These all with one accord continued stedfastly in prayer, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.

Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice.

But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were enlightened, ye endured a great conflict of sufferings;

But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Take, brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.Behold, we call them blessed that endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.

And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,unto an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, ye have been put to grief in manifold trials,that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:whom not having seen ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,

I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

to them that by patience in well- doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life:

The hope of the righteous shall be gladness; But the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which ye endure;

but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end.

and in your knowledge self- control; and in your self- control patience; and in your patience godliness;

that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,and on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.

to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves;for a friend of mine is come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him;and he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee?I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will arise and give him as many as he needeth.And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.And of which of you that is a father shall his son ask a loaf, and he give him a stone? or a fish, and he for a fish give him a serpent?Or if he shall ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion?If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

In your patience ye shall win your souls.

And that in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it fast, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Jehovah.

Thou, who hast showed us many and sore troubles, Wilt quicken us again, And wilt bring us up again from the depths of the earth.Increase thou my greatness, And turn again and comfort me.I will also praise thee with the psaltery, Even thy truth, O my God: Unto thee will I sing praises with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.My lips shall shout for joy when I sing praises unto thee; And my soul, which thou hast redeemed.

Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;saying, There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, and regarded not man:and there was a widow in that city; and she came oft unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest she wear me out by her continual coming.And the Lord said, Hear what the unrighteous judge saith.And shall not God avenge his elect, that cry to him day and night, and yet he is longsuffering over them?I say unto you, that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?And he spake also this parable unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and set all others at nought:Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.I fast twice in the week; I give tithes of all that I get.But the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God, be thou merciful to me a sinner.I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.And they were bringing unto him also their babes, that he should touch them: but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.But Jesus called them unto him, saying, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for to such belongeth the kingdom of God.Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein.And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, even God.Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother.And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.And they that heard it said, Then who can be saved?But he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.And Peter said, Lo, we have left our own, and followed thee.And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or wife, or brethren, or parents, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the world to come eternal life.And he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets shall be accomplished unto the Son of man.For he shall be delivered up unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon:and they shall scourge and kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hid from them, and they perceived not the things that were said.And it came to pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant.And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath made thee whole.And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers.

But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.

Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies’ sake.O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God, because thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee.My flesh and my heart faileth; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.

But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

Peter therefore was kept in the prison: but prayer was made earnestly of the church unto God for him.

The wicked is thrust down in his evil- doing; But the righteous hath a refuge in his death.

Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us:which we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil;

But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,

For what is the hope of the godless, though he get him gain, When God taketh away his soul?Will God hear his cry, When trouble cometh upon him?Will he delight himself in the Almighty, And call upon God at all times?

As for me, I will call upon God; And Jehovah will save me.Evening, and morning, and at noonday, will I complain, and moan; And he will hear my voice.

For though the fig- tree shall not flourish, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labor of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no food; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls:Yet I will rejoice in Jehovah, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

But we will continue stedfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the word.

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not irksome, but for you it is safe.

For my love they are my adversaries: But I give myself unto prayer.
