Let no man deceive himself. If any man thinketh that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise.

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfected; be comforted; be of the same mind; live in peace: and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good tidings preached to them.

But godliness with contentment is great gain:for we brought nothing into the world, for neither can we carry anything out;but having food and covering we shall be therewith content.But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.

But when thou makest a feast, bid the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ: that, whether I come and see you or be absent, I may hear of your state, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the gospel;

I say this to move you to shame. What, cannot there be found among you one wise man who shall be able to decide between his brethren,

And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

That which maketh a man to be desired is his kindness; And a poor man is better than a liar.

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto Jehovah, And his good deed will he pay him again.

Also upon Judah came the hand of God to give them one heart, to do the commandment of the king and of the princes by the word of Jehovah.

and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

All the brethren of the poor do hate him: How much more do his friends go far from him! He pursueth them with words, but they are gone.

Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker; And he that is glad at calamity shall not be unpunished.

Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; Neither do I exercise myself in great matters, Or in things too wonderful for me.Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child with his mother, Like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? (niv)

By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (niv)

And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast— all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world. “ If I have denied justice to any of my servants, whether male or female, when they had a grievance against me,what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account?Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers?“ If I have denied the desires of the poor or let the eyes of the widow grow weary, (niv)

not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. (niv)
