The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

The dark night of evil is nearly over. The day of Christ’s return is almost here. So let us get rid of the works of darkness that harm us. Let us do the works of light that protect us.

Before the day breaks and the shadows flee, turn to me, my love, and be like a gazelle or a young stag on the divided mountains.

You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires;

For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil.For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest,and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word.Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no plans to satisfy the fleshly desires.

“ This, then, is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil.For everyone who practices wicked things hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed.But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.”

He also said to me,“ Don’t seal the prophetic words of this book, because the time is near.

The murderer rises at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and by night he becomes a thief.The adulterer’s eye watches for twilight, thinking: No eye will see me; he covers his face.In the dark they break into houses; by day they lock themselves in, never experiencing the light.For the morning is like darkness to them. Surely they are familiar with the terrors of darkness!

On that day people will throw their silver and gold idols, which they made to worship, to the moles and the bats.

The one who reads this is blessed, and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep what is written in it are blessed, because the time is near!

So rid yourselves of all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander.
