All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

Some people do not know God’s law when they sin. They will not be judged by the law when they die. Others do know God’s law when they sin. They will be judged by the law.

For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

When the Gentiles sin, they will be destroyed, even though they never had God’s written law. And the Jews, who do have God’s law, will be judged by that law when they fail to obey it.

彼雖知凡行此者、天主擬之以死、乃不獨自行之、亦以他人行之為樂、

蓋異邦人無律法、而自然行律法之事、雖無律法、而自為律法、即以行事彰明律法、銘於其心、是非之心、亦為之證、其意念互相褒貶、即於天主藉耶穌基督審判人隱微之日、如我福音所言也、○

然則何言、律法即罪乎、非也、然非由律法、我不識罪、律法若不云勿貪、則我不識貪、罪藉律法而乘機、使多慾動於我中、無律法、則罪死矣、昔我無律法而生、誡至、罪生而我死、是誡本為致生、反致我死、蓋罪藉誡乘機誘我、且以之殺我、

且天主之怒、由天而顯、罰諸不虔不義、即行不義阻真理之人、蓋天主之事、人所能知者、明顯於人、因天主已示之於彼、天主不可見之事、即其永能、及其為天主之真、目不可見、自造天地以來、乃可明知、因觀其所造之物而悟、致人無由推諉、彼雖知天主、不以天主尊之、亦不謝之、乃思念虛妄、心以頑而愈昧、

吾告爾、當審判日、推羅西頓之刑、較爾之刑猶易受也、

僕知主人之意、而不設備、不順其意者、見撲必多、不知而作當撲之事、見撲必少、蓋凡人多予之、必向之多求、多託之、必向之多索、

我誠告爾、當審判日、所多瑪地之刑、較爾之刑猶易受也、

昔摩西之面有榮、其榮雖暫而將廢、以色列人不能注目觀之、致死之儀文、鐫於石版者、其役尚有此榮、況聖神之役、其榮不更大乎、若定罪之役有榮、則稱義之役更榮、

我又見死者、若大若小、立於寶座前、有書開展、又別有一書開展、即生命之書、死者皆憑書所錄、按其行為而受審判、海遂交出其中之死者、死亡與哈底、哈底見一章十八節小註亦交出其中之死者、皆按其行為而受審判、死亡與哈底、皆投於火坑、此乃第二次之死、凡不見錄於生命書者、亦見投於火坑、

蓋律法致刑、無律法則無過犯、

不遵此律法諸言而行者、必受咒詛、眾民當應曰、阿們、

耶穌曰、非自上賜爾、則爾無權治我、故解我於爾者、其罪更大、

我儕知律法所言、為律法下之人言之、以塞諸口、使舉世服罪於天主前、故無人由遵行律法、得稱義於天主前、蓋由律法可知罪耳、○

往時世人蒙昧、天主不究、今乃命眾隨在悔改、蓋天主已定一日、欲藉所立之人、按公義審判天下、且使其由死復活、而賜萬民以可信之證、○

律法因肉體無力、不能滅罪、惟天主為罪遣其子降生肉體、狀如罪人之身、而滅身之罪矣、

但按經、萬人皆在罪中、使所許之福、由信耶穌基督、可賜於諸信者、

守全律法而犯一誡、即犯諸誡、
