For, as it is written: The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.

蓋正如經之所言：『因爾之故、天主之名、為世詬病。』

As it is written:“ God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

It is written,“ The Gentiles say evil things against God’s name because of you.”( Isaiah 52:5; Ezekiel 36:22)

For, as it is written,“ The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

No wonder the Scriptures say,“ The Gentiles blaspheme the name of God because of you.”

For“ the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.

For“ the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.

For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, even as it is written.

For, as it is written: The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.

For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

For just as it is written,“ the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

For“ the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.

When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned my holy name, because it was said about them,‘ These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave his land in exile.’Then I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel profaned among the nations where they went.“ Therefore, say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: It is not for your sake that I will act, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which you profaned among the nations where you went.I will honor the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations— the name you have profaned among them. So now what have I here”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ that my people are taken away for nothing? Its rulers wail”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ and my name is continually blasphemed all day long.

Many will follow their depraved ways, and the way of truth will be maligned because of them.

All who pass by scornfully clap their hands at you. They hiss and shake their heads at Daughter Jerusalem: Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?All your enemies open their mouths against you. They hiss and gnash their teeth, saying,“ We have swallowed her up. This is the day we have waited for! We have lived to see it.”

However, because you treated the LORD with such contempt in this matter, the son born to you will die.”

Your message is to be sound beyond reproach, so that any opponent will be ashamed, because he doesn’t have anything bad to say about us.

Therefore, I want younger women to marry, have children, manage their households, and give the adversary no opportunity to accuse us.

All who are under the yoke as slaves should regard their own masters as worthy of all respect, so that God’s name and his teaching will not be blasphemed.

Woe to the world because of offenses. For offenses will inevitably come, but woe to that person by whom the offense comes.

to be self-controlled, pure, workers at home, kind, and in submission to their husbands, so that God’s word will not be slandered.
