舉世莫非罪人、固未有能懷天主之明德者也。

There is certainly no one righteous on the earth who does good and never sins.

What then? Are we any better off? Not at all! For we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin,

But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin’s power, so that the promise might be given on the basis of faith in Jesus Christ to those who believe.

For God has imprisoned all in disobedience so that he may have mercy on all.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are subject to the law, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment.

we encouraged, comforted, and implored each one of you to walk worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.

He called you to this through our gospel, so that you might obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while.

And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right.They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,senseless, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.Although they know God’s just sentence— that those who practice such things deserve to die— they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.Therefore, every one of you who judges is without excuse. For when you judge another, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the same things.Now we know that God’s judgment on those who do such things is based on the truth.Do you think— anyone of you who judges those who do such things yet do the same— that you will escape God’s judgment?Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?Because of your hardened and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed.He will repay each one according to his works:eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;but wrath and anger to those who are self-seeking and disobey the truth while obeying unrighteousness.There will be affliction and distress for every human being who does evil, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek;but glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does what is good, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.For there is no favoritism with God.For all who sin without the law will also perish without the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.For the hearers of the law are not righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.So, when Gentiles, who do not by nature have the law, do what the law demands, they are a law to themselves even though they do not have the law.They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts. Their consciences confirm this. Their competing thoughts either accuse or even excuse themon the day when God judges what people have kept secret, according to my gospel through Christ Jesus.

I exhort the elders among you as a fellow elder and witness to the sufferings of Christ, as well as one who shares in the glory about to be revealed:

Instead, rejoice as you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may also rejoice with great joy when his glory is revealed.

We have also obtained access through him by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Therefore, since the promise to enter his rest remains, let us beware that none of you be found to have fallen short.
