Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

弟兄们，由此可见，我们都是有责任的，但不是对肉体有责任去顺着肉体而活；

弟兄們，這樣看來，我們並不是欠肉體的債去順從肉體活着。

弟兄們，這樣看來，我們不是欠肉體的債去順從肉體而活。

弟兄們，這樣看來，我們不是欠肉體的債去順從肉體而活。

弟兄姊妹，這樣看來，我們不必隨從罪惡本性活著。

弟兄們，可見我們並不是欠肉體的債，隨著肉體而活。

弟兄們，那麼我們便是欠債的了，卻不是欠肉體的債、去順着肉體活的。

弟兄們，由此可見，我們都是有責任的，但不是對肉體有責任去順著肉體而活；

兄弟乎、我儕非負債於形軀、致依形軀而生、

兄弟乎、我儕非為欲所役者、豈甘從欲、

如是、兄弟乎、我儕非負肉體之債、致我從肉體而行、

故兄弟應知吾人既不為肉身之役、自無順從情慾之責。

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation— but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.

Brothers and sisters, we have a duty. Our duty is not to live under the power of sin.

So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

So then, brothers and sisters, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,

So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh—

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors— not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

So then, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,

So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh

Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death?For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him.When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God.So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!

You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy— their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols.

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

O Lord, I am your servant; yes, I am your servant, born into your household; you have freed me from my chains.
