For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

The written law was made weak by the power of sin. But God did what the written law could not do. He made his Son to be like those who live under the power of sin. God sent him to be an offering for sin. Jesus suffered God’s judgment against our sin.

For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

Everyone who believes is justified through him from everything that you could not be justified from through the law of Moses.

So the previous command is annulled because it was weak and unprofitable( for the law perfected nothing), but a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified.

When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be rendered powerless so that we may no longer be enslaved to sin,

Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the reality itself of those things, it can never perfect the worshipers by the same sacrifices they continually offer year after year.Otherwise, wouldn’t they have stopped being offered, since the worshipers, purified once and for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins?But in the sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year.For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.Therefore, as he was coming into the world, he said: You did not desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.You did not delight in whole burnt offerings and sin offerings.Then I said,“ See— it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, God.”After he says above, You did not desire or delight in sacrifices and offerings, whole burnt offerings and sin offerings( which are offered according to the law),he then says, See, I have come to do your will. He takes away the first to establish the second.By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.

Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if the law had been granted with the ability to give life, then righteousness would certainly be on the basis of the law.

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

For no one will be justified in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same understanding— because the one who suffers in the flesh is finished with sin—in order to live the remaining time in the flesh no longer for human desires, but for God’s will.

Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man,

Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through his death he might destroy the one holding the power of death— that is, the devil—

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions aroused through the law were working in us to bear fruit for death.But now we have been released from the law, since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the old letter of the law.What should we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! But I would not have known sin if it were not for the law. For example, I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, Do not covet.And sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind. For apart from the law sin is dead.Once I was alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life againand I died. The commandment that was meant for life resulted in death for me.For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.

Therefore, he had to be like his brothers and sisters in every way, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in matters pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.Dear friends, if God loved us in this way, we also must love one another.No one has ever seen God. If we love one another, God remains in us and his love is made complete in us.This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.And we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent his Son as the world’s Savior.

But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin.

“ Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

They crucified two criminals with him, one on his right and one on his left.

He did not even spare his own Son but gave him up for us all. How will he not also with him grant us everything?

So a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him,“ Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.”

For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the benefit of my brothers and sisters, my own flesh and blood.
