What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

這樣，我們可說甚麼呢？那本來不追求義的外邦人反得了義，就是因信而得的義。

這樣，我們要怎麼說呢？那不追求義的外邦人卻獲得了義，就是因信而獲得的義。

這樣，我們要怎麼說呢？那不追求義的外邦人卻獲得了義，就是因信而獲得的義。

這樣看來，我們該說什麼呢？本來不追求義的外族人卻因信而得到了義。

既是這樣，我們還有甚麼可說的呢？那不追求義的外族人卻得了義，就是因信而得的義。

這樣，我們可怎麼說呢？那不追求義的外國人倒追着了義、那本着信的義；

那麼，我們要怎麼說呢？那原來沒有追求義的外邦人，卻得到了義，就是因信而得的義；

然則將何言耶、異邦人未趨義而得義、即由信之義也、

是何以言之、異邦人不求稱義、而得稱義者、乃以信主而稱義、

是則何言、異邦人不尋義而得義、即由信之義、

於此吾人尚有何說？異邦之人、未曾求義、竟因信而得義矣。

What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;

What should we say then? Gentiles did not look for a way to be right with God. But they found it by having faith.

What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith;

What does all this mean? Even though the Gentiles were not trying to follow God’s standards, they were made right with God. And it was by faith that this took place.

What should we say then? Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained righteousness— namely the righteousness that comes from faith.

What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but the righteousness that is by faith;

What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith;

What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who followed not after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith:

What should we say then? Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained righteousness— namely the righteousness that comes from faith.

What shall we say then?– that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith,

What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who didn’t follow after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith;

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which[ he had yet] being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

What shall we say then?[ Is there] unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven?( that is, to bring Christ down[ from above]:)

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham,[ saying], In thee shall all nations be blessed.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster[ to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

For the time past of[ our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

[ Cometh] this blessedness then upon the circumcision[ only], or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.

For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world,[ was] not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

I am sought of[ them that] asked not[ for me]; I am found of[ them that] sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation[ that] was not called by my name.I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way[ that was] not good, after their own thoughts;

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed[ it] unto them.For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,[ even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:Because that, when they knew God, they glorified[ him] not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.And even as they did not like to retain God in[ their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

The way of the wicked[ is] an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say?[ Is] God unrighteous who taketh vengeance?( I speak as a man)

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock[ whence] ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit[ whence] ye are digged.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;Even the righteousness of God[ which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
