有高大的城牆，有十二個門，門口有十二位天使，門上寫著以色列十二支派的名字。東邊有三個門，南邊有三個門，西邊有三個門，北邊有三個門。城牆有十二座根基，根基上有羊羔的十二使徒的名字。那對我說話的天使拿著一根金的蘆葦，要量那城、城門和城牆。城是四方的，長寬都一樣。天使用蘆葦量那城，共有二千四百公里（“二千四百公里”原文作“一萬二千司他町”），城的長、寬、高都一樣；又量了城牆，約有六十公尺（“六十公尺”原文作“一百四十四肘”）。天使用的標準，就是人量度的標準。城牆是用碧玉做的，城是用明淨像玻璃的純金做的。城牆的根基是用各樣寶石裝飾的：第一座根基是碧玉，第二座是藍寶石，第三座是瑪瑙，第四座是綠寶石，

你的子孫必重建久已荒廢之處，你必重建歷代拆毀了的根基；你要稱為修補破口的人，重修路徑給人居住的人。

我的良人像羚羊，像小鹿。看哪！他站在我們的牆後；從窗口觀看，從窗格往裡面探視。

並且建造在使徒和先知的根基上，基督耶穌自己就是奠基石，整座建築都靠著他連接配合，漸漸增長成為在主裡面的聖所。你們在他裡面也一同被建造，成為神藉著聖靈居住的所在。

他們到了那裡，就召集了會眾，報告神跟他們一起所行的一切，並且他為外族人開了信道的門。

他們必重建久已廢棄的荒場，建立先前荒涼之地；重修荒廢了的城鎮，就是歷代荒涼之處。

我照著神賜給我的恩典，就像一個聰明的工程師，立好了根基，別人在上面建造。各人要注意怎樣在上面建造，因為除了那已經立好的根基以外，沒有人能立別的根基。那根基就是耶穌基督。如果有人用金、銀、寶石、草、木、禾稭，在這根基上建造，

‘此後我要回來，重建大衛倒塌了的帳幕，重建它損壞之處，把它重新豎立起來，

我要帶來黃金代替銅，帶來銀子代替鐵，銅代替木頭，鐵代替石頭。我要立和平作你的官長，立公義作你的監督。

我告訴你，你是彼得，我要在這磐石上建立我的教會，死亡的權勢﹙“死亡的權勢”原文作“陰間的門”。﹚不能勝過他。

告訴他說：‘萬軍之耶和華這樣說：看哪！有一個人名叫大衛的苗裔，他必從自己的地方生長起來，並要建造耶和華的殿。他必建造耶和華的殿，必得尊榮；他必坐在寶座上執掌王權，又必在他的寶座上作祭司，使兩者之間和諧共濟。’”這冠冕要在耶和華的殿中給希連（“希連”有古譯本作“黑玳”）、多比雅、耶大雅和西番雅的兒子賢（“賢”有古譯本作“約西亞”）作記念。遠方的人也要來建造耶和華的殿，你們就知道萬軍之耶和華差遣了我到你們這裡來。你們若留心聽從耶和華你們神的話，這事必定成就。

殿內的牆壁，從地面到天花板，都貼上香柏木，殿內的地面，都鋪上松木板。
