对洁净的人，一切都是洁净的；对污秽和不信的人，没有一样是洁净的，就是他们的理性和良心也都被污秽了。

在洁净的人，凡物都洁净；在污秽不信的人，什么都不洁净，连心地和天良也都污秽了。

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

我知道，并且在主耶稣里深信：没有一样东西本身是不洁净的。只是，如果有人认为什么是不洁净的，对他来说，那就是不洁净的。

不要因食物的缘故破坏神的工作。一切固然都是洁净的，但如果有人因吃东西使人绊脚，这就是恶事了。

“什么事都可以做”，但不都有益处；“什么事都可以做”，但不都造就人。

他们禁止结婚，要求远避某些食物，就是神所创造的，好让信徒和了解真理的人以感谢的心享用。原来神所造的一切都是美好的；如果以感谢的心领受，就什么也不用丢弃，

但那疑惑的人如果吃了，就被定罪了，因为不是本于信；而一切不是本于信的，就是罪。

“什么事我都可以做”，但不都有益处；“什么事我都可以做”，但我却不受任何事的辖制。“食物是为了肚子，肚子是为了食物”，但神将要把这两样都废除。身体不是为了淫乱，而是为了主；主也是为了身体。

主就对他说：“如今你们法利赛人洗净杯子、盘子的外面，但你们里面却充满着贪心和恶意。你们这些愚妄的人！那位造了外面的，不也造了里面吗？不过你们当把里面的施舍给人，看哪，对你们来说一切就都洁净了。

而从口里出来的，是由心里发出的，这些才使人污秽。

因此，你们无论或吃、或喝、或做什么，一切都要为神的荣耀而做。

那声音第二次又对他说：“神所洁净的，你不可当做污秽的。”

然而，不是所有的人都有这知识。有些人因习惯了偶像，至今还以为所吃的是祭过偶像的食物。他们的良心因为软弱，就被玷污了。

肉市上所卖的一切，你们都可以吃；不要为了良心的缘故而问什么，

更何况基督的血呢！基督藉着永恒的圣灵，将自己毫无瑕疵地献给神，他的血难道不能洁净我们的良心脱离致死的行为，使我们事奉永生的神吗？

既然我们的心被血洒过，脱离了罪恶感，身体也被清水洗净了，就让我们怀着真诚的心，以确信不移的信仰近前来；

他在那些理性败坏、丧失真理、以为敬神是得利之道的人中，引发无休止的争吵。

高傲的眼、骄横的心，都是恶人的灯，都是罪。

因此无论谁，不合宜地吃主的饼、喝主的杯，就是干犯主的身体、主的血。这样，一个人应当省察自己，然后才吃这饼、喝这杯。因为那吃喝的人，如果不分辨主的身体，就是吃喝对自己的惩罚了。
