犹大长老因先知哈该和易多的孙子撒迦利亚所说劝勉的话就建造这殿，凡事亨通。他们遵着以色列神的命令和波斯王居鲁士、大流士、亚达薛西的旨意，建造完毕。大流士王第六年，亚达月初三日，这殿修成了。

于是这设巴萨来建立耶路撒冷神殿的根基。这殿从那时直到如今尚未造成。’

对他说，万军之耶和华如此说：看哪，那名称为大卫苗裔的，他要在本处长起来，并要建造耶和华的殿。他要建造耶和华的殿，并担负尊荣，坐在位上掌王权；又必在位上作祭司，使两职之间筹定和平。

百姓到了耶路撒冷神殿的地方。第二年二月，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯，约萨达的儿子耶书亚和其余的弟兄，就是祭司、利未人，并一切被掳归回耶路撒冷的人，都兴工建造；又派利未人，从二十岁以外的，督理建造耶和华殿的工作。于是犹大的后裔，就是耶书亚和他的子孙与弟兄，甲篾和他的子孙，利未人希拿达的子孙与弟兄，都一同起来，督理那在神殿做工的人。匠人立耶和华殿根基的时候，祭司皆穿礼服吹号，亚萨的子孙利未人敲钹，照以色列王大卫所定的例，都站着赞美耶和华。他们彼此唱和，赞美称谢耶和华说：“他本为善，他向以色列人永发慈爱。”他们赞美耶和华的时候，众民大声呼喊，因耶和华殿的根基已经立定。然而有许多祭司、利未人、族长，就是见过旧殿的老年人，现在亲眼看见立这殿的根基，便大声哭号，也有许多人大声欢呼，甚至百姓不能分辨欢呼的声音和哭号的声音；因为众人大声呼喊，声音听到远处。

使他们都合而为一。正如你父在我里面，我在你里面，使他们也在我们里面，叫世人可以信你差了我来。

但我有比约翰更大的见证；因为父交给我要我成就的事，就是我所做的事，这便见证我是父所差来的。差我来的父也为我作过见证。你们从来没有听见他的声音，也没有看见他的形像。

因为神差他的儿子降世，不是要定世人的罪，乃是要叫世人因他得救。

万军之耶和华说，“在显出荣耀之后，差遣我去惩罚那掳掠你们的列国，摸你们的就是摸他眼中的瞳人。看哪，我要向他们抡手，他们就必作服侍他们之人的掳物，你们便知道万军之耶和华差遣我了。

那时，必有许多国归附耶和华，作他的子民。他要住在你中间，你就知道万军之耶和华差遣我到你那里去了。

就是判断人，我的判断也是真的；因为不是我独自在这里，还有差我来的父与我同在。你们的律法上也记着说：‘两个人的见证是真的。’我是为自己作见证，还有差我来的父也是为我作见证。”

仰望为我们信心创始成终的耶稣。他因那摆在前面的喜乐，就轻看羞辱，忍受了十字架的苦难，便坐在神宝座的右边。

你们要就近我来听这话：‘我从起头并未曾在隐密处说话；自从有这事，我就在那里。’现在，主耶和华差遣我和他的灵来。”

我还告诉你，你是彼得，我要把我的教会建造在这磐石上；阴间的权柄不能胜过他。

远方的人也要来建造耶和华的殿，你们就知道万军之耶和华差遣我到你们这里来。你们若留意听从耶和华你们神的话，这事必然成就。
