A Plea for Deliverance
For the choir director. A Davidic psalm.
1Lord, how long will You forget me?
Forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me? Jb 13:24; Ps 44:24; 89:46
2How long will I store up anxious concerns Or up counsels within me,
agony in my mind every day?
How long will my enemy dominate me? Ps 6:3; 38:6; 42:9
3Consider me and answer, Lord my God.
Restore brightness to my eyes; Ezr 9:8; Ps 19:8; Pr 29:13
otherwise, I will sleep in death.
4My enemy will say, “I have triumphed over him,”
and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken. Ps 89:42
5But I have trusted in Your faithful love; Ps 52:8
my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance. Ps 9:14
6I will sing to the Lord
because He has treated me generously. Ps 119:17; 142:7
