喫了餅以後，拿杯也照樣子；他說：『這杯是新的約，用我的血立的；你們每逢喝的時候，總要這樣行，來記念我。』

饭后，也照样拿起杯来，说：“这杯是用我的血所立的新约，你们每逢喝的时候，要如此行，为的是记念我。”

In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying,“ This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

故此基督做了一個新的約的中保，蒙召的人就可以得到所應許的永世基業；因為已經有了受死的事、來贖赦前約之下犯法的罪了。哪裏有遺囑，哪裏立遺囑者的死就必須提證出來。有了死了，遺囑才算確定；立遺囑者還活着時，遺囑總是無效力的。所以就是先前的約也不是沒有用血開創的。當時各條誡命既由摩西按照律法向眾民宣講了，他就拿牛犢山羊的血，用水和朱紅絨跟牛膝草、灑在那書卷上，並且灑在眾民身上，說：『這就是上帝向你們立誡命的約之血』。

願賜平安的上帝、就是那憑永世之約的血把羣羊的大牧人、我們的主耶穌、從死人中領上來的、

他使我們能夠做新的約之僕役：不是文字上的約，乃是靈的約；因為文字能害死人，靈卻能使人活。

我們所祝頌的杯、豈不是讓我們一同有分於基督的血麼？我們所擘開的餅、豈不是讓我們一同有分於基督的身體麼？

無奈他們的心意卻成了頑梗不化的。直到今天的日子，在宣讀《舊約》的時候、同樣的帕子還是存在着、沒有揭去；因為只有在基督裏那才被消滅掉。

所以無論何人，不配地喫主的餅，喝主的杯，就該擔受辜負主身主血的罪責。人須要察驗自己，然後喫餅喝杯。
