是則何也、以色列人所求者未得、惟蒙選者得之、其餘則剛愎其心矣、如經載云、主使其心昏迷、目不見、耳不聞、至於今日、大衛曰、願其筵席成為網羅、機檻、礙石、以為其報、願其目矇而不見、其背屈而不伸、

耶穌攜十二門徒、謂之曰、我儕上耶路撒冷、凡先知所載指人子之言、皆必應也、因將被解於異邦人、戲玩之、凌辱之、唾之、鞭撲而殺之、至第三日必復活、門徒無所悟、因斯語隱秘、故不知所言何也、○

我臨世為光、使信我者、弗居於暗、

目耗則全身暗、爾內之光若暗、其暗何其大哉、○

故我設喻語眾、因其視而不見、聽而不聞、亦不悟焉、在是人也、正應以賽亞之預言云、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、因斯民之心冥頑、自聾其耳、自閉其目、免其目視、耳聽、心悟悔改、而我醫之焉、

人子、爾居悖逆之族中、彼有目可見而不見、有耳可聽而不聽、因屬悖逆之族、○

惟彼不知不悟、目塗不見、心蔽不明、

我儕如瞽者捫墻、我捫而行、彷彿無目、日中顛蹶、如在昏夜、我處幽暗、無異死人、

民之守望者、皆瞽目、皆無知、皆似瘖犬不能吠、皆作夢者、偃臥者、貪寢者、

爾此愚昧無知之民、有目而不見、有耳而不聞、宜聽斯言、

惡人雖蒙恩寵、仍不學義、居正直境中、作孽如故、不顧主之威嚴、主歟、主手高舉、彼猶不顧、主熱中祐民、願彼視之而愧、主之諸敵、必為火所燬、主歟、主賜我以平康、我儕無論何事、俱賴主而成、

爾聾者當聽、爾瞽者當視、孰為瞽者、豈非我僕、孰聾如我所遣之使、孰瞽如我之良友、孰瞽如主之僕、事雖多見而不領會、耳雖開通而不欲聽、

又在此山、必除阻萬民之障翳、及蔽萬國之覆蓋、

願其目昏不能見、願主使其腰弱無力、

其言云、往告此民曰、爾將聽而不聰、視而不明、蓋此民之心冥頑、自聾其耳、自閉其目、免其目視耳聽心悟、悔改而我醫之、

天主使我能為新約之役、非循儀文、乃循聖神、蓋儀文致死、聖神致生、

使斯民心蒙、耳聾、目瞶、免其目視、耳聽、心悟悔改、而得醫治、
