此皆為後事之影、而其形即基督也、

信之道尚未顯著、我眾為律法所守、而被拘以俟信之道顯著、如是、律法為我啟蒙之師、引我就基督、使由信稱義、

有基督、律法乃終、使凡信者得稱義、

律法既為將來美事之影、非本物之實形、故不能以每年所恆獻之祭、使來前者得純全、若能、則崇事者、一潔其心、不復覺有罪、獻祭之事、豈不止息乎、但此祭、使人每年記憶其罪耳、蓋牛羊之血、不能除罪、故基督臨世之時、曰、主歟、祭祀與禮物、爾所不欲、爾曾為我備一身、火焚祭與贖罪之祭、爾所不悅、我即云、天主歟、我來以遵行爾旨、在書卷載有指我之言、先既言祭祀與禮物、火焚祭與贖罪之祭、爾不欲不悅之、此皆遵律法而獻者、後則言天主歟、我來以遵爾旨、以是而觀、彼乃廢其先者以立其後者、
