耶和华绝不会赦免这样的人，祂必向这样的人发烈怒，使记在这书上的一切咒诅临到他身上，从世上抹去他的名字。

你斥责列国，消灭恶人，永永远远抹去他们的名字。

你不要阻止我，我要向他们发烈怒，毁灭他们。我要使你的后代成为大国。”摩西恳求他的上帝耶和华说：“耶和华啊，你为什么要向你的子民发烈怒呢？这些子民是你亲自用神迹和大能从埃及领出来的。难道你要让埃及人议论说你领他们出来是出于恶意，是为了在山野之间杀掉他们，从地上灭绝他们吗？求你息怒，施怜悯，不要降祸给你的子民。求你顾念你的仆人亚伯拉罕、以撒和以色列，你曾凭自己向他们起誓说，‘我必使你们的后代像天上的星星那么多。我应许给你们后代的这整片土地，我必赐给他们作永远的产业。’”

愿他断子绝孙，他的姓氏传不到下一代。

义人流芳于世，恶人名声朽烂。

耶和华对我说：“就算摩西和撒母耳站在我面前求情，我也不会怜悯这些百姓。你把他们从我面前赶走吧！

那个人在屋里应声说，‘请别打搅我，门已经锁上了，我和孩子们也已经上床了，我不能起来给你拿饼。’“我告诉你们，那人虽不念朋友之情，但是倘若你不肯罢休，继续请求，他最终会起来满足你的愿望。“我告诉你们，祈求，就会给你们；寻找，就会寻见；叩门，就会给你们开门。因为凡祈求的，就得到；寻找的，就寻见；叩门的，就给他开门。

得胜者必同样穿上白袍，我绝不会从生命册上抹去他的名字，我必在我父和众天使面前承认他的名。

“你们这些顽固不化、耳不听心不悔的人，经常抗拒圣灵，所作所为和你们的祖先如出一辙！

恳求你赦免他们的罪，不然请你从你的册子上抹掉我的名字吧。”耶和华对摩西说：“谁得罪我，我就从我的册子上抹掉谁的名字。

耶和华对我说：“你不要为这百姓祷告。

耶路撒冷啊，我已在你城墙上设立守望者。他们昼夜不停地祷告。呼求耶和华的人啊，你们不可歇息，要常常敦促祂，直到祂建立耶路撒冷，使耶路撒冷成为普世歌颂的城。

耶和华对摩西说：“这些人藐视我要到何时呢？我在他们中间行了这么多神迹，他们仍然不相信我。我要用瘟疫毁灭他们，不让他们承受那片土地。但我要使你成为大国，比他们更强盛。”

耶稣讲了一个比喻来教导门徒要常常祷告，不要灰心。祂说：“某城有一位既不敬畏上帝也不尊重人的审判官。那城里有一位寡妇常常来哀求这位审判官，说，‘求你为我申冤，惩办我的对头。’审判官总是充耳不闻，但后来心里想，‘虽然我不怕上帝，也不在乎人，可是这寡妇一直来烦我，还是替她申冤好了，免得她再来烦我！’”主接着说：“你们听，这不义的审判官尚且这么说，难道上帝听到祂拣选的人昼夜呼求，不替他们申冤吗？难道祂会一直耽延不理吗？我告诉你们，祂必很快为他们申冤。不过当人子来的时候，在世上找得到有信心的人吗？”
