謂北方曰、釋之返、謂南方曰、勿拘留、以我諸子攜自遠方、以我諸女返自地極、

I will say to the north,‘ Give them up!’ and to the south,‘ Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—

I will say to the north,‘ Hand them over!’ and to the south,‘ Don’t hold any back!’ Bring my sons from distant lands, and my daughters from the remote regions of the earth,

I will tell the north,‘ Give them up!’ and tell the south,‘ Don’t hold them back! Bring my sons from far away, and my daughters from the ends of the earth—

所以，“主说：你们要从他们中间出来，和他们分开，不可触摸不洁净的东西，我就收纳你们。”“我要作你们的父亲，你们要作我的儿女。这是全能的主说的。”

‘背道的人哪，回转吧！’这是耶和华的宣告。‘因为我才是你们的主。我要每城取一人，每族取二人，把你们带到锡安。

在那些日子，犹大家必与以色列家同行，他们必从北方之地一同来到我赐给你们列祖为业的地方。’”“我说：‘我待你，像待儿女一样，赐给你佳美之地，就是列国中最美好的产业；我以为你会称我为父，不再离去不跟从我了。

你们因着信，在基督耶稣里都作了神的儿子。你们所有受洗归入基督的人，都是披戴基督的，并不分犹太人或希腊人，作奴仆的或自由人，男的或女的，因为你们在基督耶稣里都成为一体了。如果你们属于基督，就是亚伯拉罕的后裔，是按照应许承受产业的了。

到那时，这个身躯高大、皮肤光滑的民族，就是远近都为人所惧怕的民族，强盛和践踏人的国，他们的地有河流把地分开，他们必把礼物带来给万军之耶和华，就是奉到锡安山，万军之耶和华立他名的地方。

就如神在何西阿书上说的：“我要称那不是我子民的为我的子民，那不蒙爱的为蒙爱的；从前在什么地方对他们说：你们不是我的子民，将来就在那里称他们为永活神的儿子。”

也不因为他们是亚伯拉罕的后裔，就都成为他的儿女，只有“以撒生的，才可以称为你的后裔”，这就是说，肉身生的儿女并不是神的儿女，只有凭着应许生的儿女才算是后裔。

“然而，以色列人的数目，必多如海边的沙，量不尽，数不完。从前在什么地方对他们说：‘你们不是我的子民’，将来要在那里对他们说：‘你们是永活的神的儿子。’犹大人和以色列人要聚集在一起，为自己立一位首领，并离开那地上去，因为耶斯列的日子必为大日。”（本章第10~11节在《马索拉文本》为2:1~2）

把他们从各地，就是从东从西、从南（“南”原文作“海”）从北，招聚回来的。
