约西亚的长子是约哈难，次子是约雅敬，三子是西底家，四子是沙龙。

法老尼哥立约西亚的儿子以利亚敬接续他父亲约西亚作王，给他改名叫约雅敬，却将约哈斯带到埃及，他就死在那里。

国民立约西亚的儿子约哈斯在耶路撒冷接续他父作王。约哈斯登基的时候年二十三岁，在耶路撒冷作王三个月。埃及王在耶路撒冷废了他，又罚犹大国银子一百他连得，金子一他连得。埃及王尼哥立约哈斯的哥哥以利雅敬作犹大和耶路撒冷的王，改名叫约雅敬，又将约哈斯带到埃及去了。

于是，希勒家和王所派的众人都去见女先知户勒大。户勒大是掌管礼服沙龙的妻，沙龙是哈斯拉的孙子、特瓦的儿子。户勒大住在耶路撒冷第二区；他们请问于她。

于是，以法莲人的几个族长，就是约哈难的儿子亚撒利雅、米实利末的儿子比利家、沙龙的儿子耶希西家、哈得莱的儿子亚玛撒，起来拦挡出兵回来的人，

约哈斯登基的时候年二十三岁，在耶路撒冷作王三个月。他母亲名叫哈慕他，是立拿人耶利米的女儿。
