諸國之人、經過是邑、彼此問曰、主何為待此大邑如此、

多邦之人經是邑者、將相語曰、耶和華如是待此大邑、何故、

凡鄰國眾庶、經過是邑、互相告語、曰、耶和華罰此大邑、何為至於若斯。

“ People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another,‘ Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city?’

And many nations will pass by this city; and everyone will say to his neighbor,‘ Why has the Lord done so to this great city?’

And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbor, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this great city?

此殿今雖崇高、凡過之者、必驚訝歎息歎息或作作嗤笑之聲曰、主如是行於斯地與斯殿何故、則必答曰、緣斯民棄主其天主、昔導其列祖出伊及者、親暱他神、奉事崇拜、故主降以是災、○

則我必拔斯民之根株、驅於我所賜之之地、且擯棄我為我名所區別為聖之殿、使萬民作歌譏刺、此殿今雖崇高、凡過之者必驚訝問曰、主如是行於斯地與斯殿何故、則必曰、緣斯民棄主其列祖之天主、導之出伊及地者、親暱他神、奉事崇拜、故主降以是災、

硫磺與鹽、鹽或作硝焚燬徧地、不得耕種、不產物、不生草、如所多瑪、俄摩拉、押瑪、洗扁、主震怒時所傾覆者、彼與列邦人皆必問曰、主何為如此待此地、其怒若是之烈何故、人必對曰、緣斯民列祖之主天主、昔導之出伊及、與之立約而民背之、往奉事叩拜異邦之神、即素所不識之神、主未嘗命彼奉事者、

凡過路者、皆因爾鼓掌、向耶路撒冷邑邑原文作女嗤笑搖頭、曰、素為極美、天下所悅之邑、即此邑乎、爾之諸敵、向爾張口、嗤笑切齒、曰、我儕已吞噬之、我所望之日、今已至矣、我所目睹、主所定之事、在古昔所命者、今已為之、所言無不應驗、拆毀務盡、不加矜恤、俾爾仇人、因爾喜樂、使爾敵人、昂首自得、昂首自得原文作高舉其角

猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因獲罪於主、主逐之散於各邦、或近或遠、有若今日之景況、我儕遭此、面蒙羞愧、惟主至公至義、

爾以此諸言告民、彼如問爾曰、主言必降此大災於我何故、我有何愆尤、干犯何罪於主我之天主前、

仇敵能入耶路撒冷邑門、天下君王、世間億兆、素所不信、
