蓋耶利米曾述預言曰、主如是云、我將付此邑於巴比倫王手、使彼取之、猶大王西底家不能脫於迦勒底人手、必付於巴比倫王手、面審詰問、面審詰問原文作其口彼此對言其目彼此相視必將西底家擄至巴比倫、居彼待我眷顧之、爾曹雖與迦勒底人戰、必不獲勝、此乃主所言、猶大王西底家遂問耶利米曰、爾何為述若是之預言、於是囚之於獄、

犹大王西底迦囚禁了他，责问他为什么预言说：“耶和华说，‘看啊，我要让巴比伦王攻占这座城。

因为犹大王西底家把他囚禁起来，说：“你为什么预言：‘耶和华这样说：看哪！我必把这城交在巴比伦王的手中，他必攻取这城；

因為猶大王西底家已將他囚禁，說：「你為甚麼預言說，耶和華如此說：『我必將這城交在巴比倫王的手中，他必攻取這城。

因為猶大王西底家囚禁他，說：「你為甚麼預言耶和華如此說：『看哪，我要把這城交在巴比倫王的手中，他必攻下這城。

在那裏猶大王西底家把耶利米關了起來，說：『你為甚麼傳神言說：「永恆主這麼說：看吧，我必將這城交在巴比倫王手中，使他攻取這城；

蓋猶大王西底家囚之、曰、爾奚預言曰、耶和華云、我必付此邑於巴比倫王手、彼必取之、

蓋耶利米曾曰、耶和華云、我將付此城於巴比倫王、使彼取之、猶大王西底家不能脫於迦勒底人手、必解至巴比倫王前、詰問研究、曳至巴比倫、居彼、待我耶和華眷顧之、爾曹雖戰巴比倫軍、必不獲利。西底家王聞之、怒其言不利、故下之於獄。

Now Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him there, saying,“ Why do you prophesy as you do? You say,‘ This is what the Lord says: I am about to give this city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it.

Zedekiah, the king of Judah, had made Jeremiah a prisoner there. Zedekiah had said to him,“ Why do you prophesy as you do? You say,‘ The Lord says,“ I am about to hand over this city to the king of Babylon. He will capture it.

For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying,“ Why do you prophesy and say,‘ Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it;

King Zedekiah had put him there, asking why he kept giving this prophecy:“ This is what the Lord says:‘ I am about to hand this city over to the king of Babylon, and he will take it.

For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

For King Zedekiah had confined Jeremiah there after he had reproved him for prophesying as he did. He had asked Jeremiah,“ Why do you keep prophesying these things? Why do you keep saying that the LORD says,‘ I will hand this city over to the king of Babylon? I will let him capture it.

For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying,“ Why do you prophesy, and say,‘ Yahweh says,“ Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will take it;

主以色列之天主如是云、爾往見猶大王西底家、告之曰、主如是云、我將付斯邑於巴比倫王手、必以火焚燬、爾不得脫其手、必為人所執、付於巴比倫王手、而鞫詰問、面鞫詰問原文作爾之目將見巴比倫王之目其口將與爾口言爾必至巴比倫、

以色列之天主如是云、巴比倫王及迦勒底人於城外圍困爾、爾曹手執器械、欲與之戰、我必使爾器械不利而反退、並集迦勒底人入於斯邑、並集迦勒底人入於斯邑或作使仍集於斯邑我必施展大能巨力、發大威盛怒烈忿以攻爾、必擊斯邑之人民牲畜、使遭大瘟疫而死、主曰、斯後我必以猶大王西底家、與其諸臣眾軍、及在斯邑中、遭瘟疫鋒刃饑饉、所遺之人、悉付於巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒之手、其敵之手、索其命者之手、巴比倫王必擊之以刃、不惜之、不憐憫、不矜恤、

耶利米以主所命者、悉告眾民、其言既竟、諸祭司諸先知與眾民執之曰、爾當死、爾何託主名預言曰、此殿必如示羅、此邑必荒蕪、無人居處、於是眾民集於主殿、欲攻耶利米、

主如是云、我必以斯邑付於迦勒底人手、與巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒手、攻取斯邑、攻邑之迦勒底人、必來以火焚斯邑、斯邑之民、曾在屋頂、焚香於巴力、奠酒於他神、干我震怒、故此屋俱必焚燬、

彼困迫亞哈斯王之時、亞哈斯王愈干犯主、或作急難之際亞哈斯王愈干犯主

主又曰、若有民有國、不願服事巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、不願項負巴比倫王之軛、我必以鋒刃饑饉疫癘罰其民、直至我藉巴比倫王之手、滅之務盡、

伊及王謂之曰、爾摩西亞倫、何為阻民操作、爾往仍服爾役、

我責爾子亦徒然、彼不受教、爾刃殺爾諸先知若猛獅殘傷、

先知耶利米奉主命曰、主以色列之天主如是云、猶大王遣爾曹來、求問於我、爾曹當如是告之曰、法老之軍旅、出以助爾、必歸其地伊及、迦勒底人必復至攻擊斯邑、必取之、以火焚燬、主如是云、勿自欺曰、迦勒底人必離我而去、彼必不去、攻爾之迦勒底人、假使爾擊其全軍、其中惟遺受傷之人、亦各於幕中起、以火焚燬斯邑、○

曰、請告我、爾以何權行此諸事、賜爾此權者誰乎、

又聳動百姓與長老及經士、突來執之、曳至公會、設妄證者曰、此人褻瀆聖所與律法不已、我儕曾聞其言曰、此拿撒勒耶穌、將毀此所、改摩西所授我之例、

王曰、我今日若不斬沙法子以利沙之首、原文作我今日若容沙法子以利沙之首仍在其體上則願天主從重罰我、以利沙坐於室、諸長老偕坐、王先遣使者往以利沙所、使者未至、以利沙謂長老曰、爾觀此殺人者之子、遣人取我首級、爾見使者至、則閉門不容其入、其主王隨其後、我已聞其足音、

主歟、主目顧誠實、主責之、彼不哀慟、彼不哀慟或作彼不覺痛幾乎殲滅之、彼仍不受教、彼顏堅於石、不肯歸誠、

則出王宮奏王曰、

諸牧伯奏王曰、斯人以如此之言、述於斯邑中所遺之武士百姓、使彼喪膽、斯人不求民之利益、利益或作得平康惟求其害、當殺之、

在伯特利勿復述預言、蓋此乃王之聖所、為王宮殿之處、蓋此乃王之聖所為王宮殿之處或作蓋此有王之宮殿為王建都之處
