因我必激动联合的大国从北方上来攻击巴比伦，他们要摆阵攻击他；他必从那里被攻取。他们的箭好像善射之勇士的箭，一枝也不徒然返回。迦勒底必成为掠物；凡掳掠他的都必心满意足。这是耶和华说的。”“抢夺我产业的啊，你们因欢喜快乐，且像踹谷撒欢的母牛犊，又像发嘶声的壮马。你们的母巴比伦就极其抱愧，生你们的必然蒙羞。他要列在诸国之末，成为旷野、旱地、沙漠。因耶和华的忿怒，必无人居住，要全然荒凉。凡经过巴比伦的要受惊骇，又因他所遭的灾殃嗤笑。所有拉弓的，你们要在巴比伦的四围摆阵，射箭攻击他。不要爱惜箭枝，因他得罪了耶和华。你们要在他四围呐喊；他已经投降。外郭坍塌了，城墙拆毁了，因为这是耶和华报仇的事。你们要向巴比伦报仇；他怎样待人，也要怎样待他。你们要将巴比伦撒种的和收割时拿镰刀的都剪除了。他们各人因怕欺压的刀剑，必归回本族，逃到本土。”

毁灭临近了；他们要求平安，却无平安可得。灾害加上灾害，风声接连风声；他们必向先知求异象，但祭司讲的律法、长老设的谋略都必断绝。

你们也要听见打仗和打仗的风声，总不要惊慌；因为这些事是必须有的，只是末期还没有到。

要在境内竖立大旗，在各国中吹角，使列国预备攻击巴比伦，将亚拉腊、米尼、亚实基拿各国招来攻击他；又派军长来攻击他，使马匹上来如蚂蚱，使列国和玛代君王，与省长和副省长，并他们所管全地之人，都预备攻击他。

你们要磨尖了箭头，抓住盾牌。耶和华定意攻击巴比伦，将他毁灭，所以激动了玛代君王的心；因这是耶和华报仇，就是为自己的殿报仇。

差遣使者在水面上，坐蒲草船过海。先知说：“你们快行的使者，要到高大光滑的民那里去。自从开国以来，那民极其可畏，是分地界践踏人的；他们的地有江河分开。”世上一切的居民和地上所住的人哪，山上竖立大旗的时候你们要看；吹角的时候你们要听。

我必惊动他的心；他要听见风声就归回本地，我必使他在那里倒在刀下。’”

应当在净光的山竖立大旗，向群众扬声招手，使他们进入贵胄的门。我吩咐我所挑出来的人；我招呼我的勇士，就是那矜夸高傲之辈，为要成就我怒中所定的。
